Terri is a coach and the owner of CrossFit Impervious and CrossFit Warrior Legion. Originally starting as a member, she fell in love with the hard work and community and saw how it could change someone's life. As a long-time volunteer firefighter and a mom of 2 daughters she understands that fitness is important, and wanted to empower more people to take control of their lives. She is passionate about people that being a Warrior is a mentality, an attitude, no matter your gender or background. She is a Level 1 & Level 2 Coach and is also certified through MetaFit and Adaptive Athlete Alliance.
Elizabeth Downs is a Crossfit Level 1 trainer with certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP. She is a certified and registered Respiratory Therapist, specializing in Cardiovascular Health and Emergency Intervention. Elizabeth is a United States Army Veteran who received a Combat Action Badge and a Purple Heart after being wounded in Iraq. After her own rehabilitation, she has made it her mission to help and motivate others, especially those with circumstances that have previously held them back. She has worked closely with other wounded veterans and civilians and understands the ups and downs of reaching fitness goals whether you are recovering from injury, starting for the very first time, or simply trying to push yourself to the next level. She can offer one on one training and is an avid crossfitter. Having lost 30 pounds after having her two children, she is happy to counsel others on making healthy nutritional choices to change their lives.
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Jen has over 20 years of experience coaching multisport athletes from the novice to professional level in triathlon, running, cycling, and adventure racing. She received her B.Sc. in Cardiac Rehab/Exercise Science from Ithaca College in 1993. A masters in Exercise Physiology in 1999 from Adelphi University and a masters in Biology with a teaching certificate from Stony Brook University in 2004. Jen earned her PhD at Stony Brook University in 2017 studying the effects of aerobic exercise on cognition and science achievement. 3 years ago, Jen walked into Crossfit Impervious with a mission to get stronger for competitive masters rowing. Within a month, it was clear that Crossfit was the new athletic passion. That passion for being better has spilled over into age group competition, with goals set to reach the highest levels in the sport of Crossfit and to help others better themselves with constantly varied functional movements done at high intensity! Jen is a CF-L1 level trainer, and a Certified Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine. An accomplished athlete, with a background as a competitive rower, Jen has qualified for and competed in the Boston marathon twice, was a nationally ranked triathlete with 3 Ironman finishes and loves mountain biking, trail run racing, cyclocross, skiing, and now Crossfit competition!
Nicole has been in fitness since 2012, after leaving a 10-year career in corporate taxation to start a family. “I love what CrossFit did for me after having a baby, both physically and mentally, and wanted to be able to positively impact as many people as possible”. Nicole started her fitness career in New York City as an intern turned coach, then head coach for two affiliates, and in 2017 promoted to COO of the boxes. After COVID struck Manhattan hard, she and her family moved out to Baiting Hollow and is so excited to be part of the Impervious family! Nicole holds a NASM CPT and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialty, and is a certified CFL1, and CFL2 trainer. She has additional certifications in CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Weightlifting, Concept 2 Rowing Certification, and has attended the Neurokinetic Therapy Seminar. In addition to her fitness credentials, Nicole also has her bachelor’s in Accounting, with an MBA in Taxation and is a licensed CPA.
